Get ready for a one-of-a-kind
urban adventure!

A Typical Week at City Scouts

Monday-Wednesday
City Exploration & Independence Building

The first three days each week will be dedicated to exploring Toronto and competing against other groups.

Each day has a location in the morning, a tasting, and a location in the afternoon. Challenges are done throughout the day and are built to boost kids' exposure to the city and their confidence in exploring while being aware of their surroundings. Once groups have gotten the hang of it, we do “Amnesia Day” (counselors "forget" directions) Campers are in charge of navigating their group between destinations.

Thursday
Urbania

Urbania is the culmination of the competition portion of the week. Group themes, bigger challenges and more points!

Morning: Team Intro Parade, morning challenge. Intro parade is when we like to bring the energy! In the afternoon we have everyone partake in ‘Big Game Time’ - This is when we want campers using their skills from the week! After this we head back to camp HQ and tally up each groups scores from the week and have our “Urbania closing ceremony”

Friday
Island Day

The whole camp is together on Friday. We go to Ward’s island for an afternoon on the beach!

While at Ward’s island we explore the residential area, play field games, eat lunch and then head to the beach for swimming. After this, our counselors will take a little time with their group to reflect on the week. Then, back to camp HQ before heading home.

How It Works

Discover a new neighbourhood every day.

The playing field spans the whole city from east to west. Your team will be assigned two neighbourhoods first thing in the morning and it’s your job to complete all the tasks you can. Don’t worry though, there’s lots of time to stop and check out the unique shops, parks, and spaces that each hood offers.

Navigate the city
by TTC.

There are a lot of maps at City Scouts that will show you how to get everywhere. Your team is responsible for figuring out the most efficient and fun route to get between neighbourhoods. This is your chance to learn how the TTC works!

Taste unique
local foods.

Toronto is one of the best food cities in the world! This is largely due to how the city has embraced all the unique cultural offering of its residents. At City Scouts we try unique food every day like dumplings, hodo kwaja, samosas and more! (We also try our best to find something for our campers with allergies as well)

Collect points and emerge victorious!

There are 3 ways to collect points!

Adventures are games that have you looking closely at the neighbourhood around you.

Discoveries are lessons about the history of the city and urban issues the city faces.

Bounties are challenges that can be done anywhere in the city like asking a city worker what their favorite park is.

Level Up the Camp Experience!

Raising independent kids starts with giving them the right experiences. At City Scouts, we help young explorers gain confidence in navigating the city safely, so when the time comes for them to venture out on their own, they’re prepared—and excited—for the journey ahead.
